Paper.io 2

After Paper.io 2: Hole.io, Tileman, Hexanaut and the Other .io Arenas on This Site

Published · 1 min read

Same idea, different rules

Tileman.io is the closest relative: a grid, a trail, a loop, but with an economy on top, so the ground you hold buys upgrades. Hexanaut.io moves the fight onto hexes and gives the leaders a bounty, which changes who you want to cut. Hole.io is Voodoo's other growth game: no trail to guard, just a hole that eats the city and gets bigger as it does.

The snake arena

Snake.io is the worm version of the same instinct. There is no territory, but the cut works the same way: get your body in front of another snake's head and it dies. Boost is the trail here, spent from your own length.

Rooms with real people

Tanko.io, Smash Karts and JustFall.lol connect to live rooms, so they need a moment to find a match and a decent connection. Smash Karts is the big one: a 180 MB download the first time, so give it a minute before you decide it is stuck. JustFall.lol is the penguin knockout where the floor disappears; it is the closest thing here to a party game with strangers.

Battles and two-player picks

Clash of Tanks, Last Warriors and Truck Slam are the quick battle games, all playable against the computer and two of them with a friend on the same keyboard. For two people at one keyboard, 12 MiniBattles, Thumb Fighter Christmas, Animals Volleyball and Bearsus are all decided in under a minute, and the chess, ludo and carrom boards are there for when the reflexes need a rest.
